REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS

UNDER THE PANAMA FLAG     Panama   

PROVISIONAL REGISTRATION  

The Provisional Registration is valid for six months. During this time the ship owner or his representative (Resident Agent) is expected to gather all documents necessary for permanent registration.

 The following documentation is required:

·        Request for availability of vessel name

·        Applications for registration of ships form duly complete and signed by the applicant or Resident Agent. One application for each vessel

·        Certify copy of the bill of sale, auction documents, or builder’s certificate.

·        Power of attorney appointing a Resident Agent in Panama.

·        International Tonnage Certificate (where applicable)

·        Proof of compliance with the ISM Code. Copy of the DOC and SMC, or a letter stating that the renewal or initial audit will be carried out (where applicable)

·        Application of a Minimum Safe Manning Certificate.

·        Letter of confirmation from an authorized Radio Accounting Authority undertaking the payments of vessel radio accounts.

·        Letter of undertaking from ship owner that the application for the endorsements of licenses for officers and crewmembers will be submitted.
